Ben Askren to Make One FC Debut in May

Following Ben Askren’s release from Bellator in November, many thought it wouldn’t be long until he would sign with the UFC.

However, the UFC would pass up on the undefeated former Bellator Welterweight champion, due to his ‘boring’ style of fighting. Most believed Askren would then sign with the World Series of Fighting, but would surprisingly sign with the Singapore promotion One FC in December.

Since then, things have been quiet in terms of Askren’s fighting career — until now.

The two-time NCAA Division I National Wrestling Champion finally has an opponent. Askren will meet Bakhtiyar Abbasov, who is currently riding a nine-fight win streak, in the main event of One FC: Honor and Glory on May 30th.
