Anthony Johnson Returns to UFC, Meets Phil Davis At UFC 172

The long-awaited UFC return of Anthony Johnson is coming to fruition as he will meet top Light Heavyweight contender Phil Davis at UFC 172. The former Welterweight was notorious for missing weight, but has won six straight since being released by the UFC in 2012.

Johnson will finally make his way back to the octagon on April 26th in Baltimore against a streaking Davis, who is riding a three-fight win streak of his own, which includes wins over Vinny Magalhaes and former UFC Light Heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida.

This fight will certainly have title implications and both men will have a close eye on UFC 172’s main event between UFC Light Heavyweight champion Jon Jones and Glover Teixeira.
