Pic of the Day: Anderson Silva Staying Positive After Broken Leg

While the picture of Chris Weidman and Gian Villante may have been the funniest picture of the day, this is definitely the most heart-warming.

After all of the negative news following the devastating injury Anderson Silva suffered in the main event at UFC 168, we finally have something positive. Here we see Anderson, crutches and cast, celebrating the new year with his family (pictured above). The photo was taken directly from Silva’s twitter account and included a brief message to his fans:

“I want to say thank you to all my fans and friends to support me at this moment, I wish a great and happy 2014 to all.”

It’s great to see Anderson with his family in good spirits following everything that occurred just a few days ago. Being able to look past the negative things and embrace what truly matters in life shows the mental toughness of a true champion.
