Alistair Overeem vs. Frank Mir Added to UFC 167

God damn does UFC 167 look like an amazing card. UFC 167 is everything that we’ve wanted the UFC to do since they absorbed Strikeforce and started signing up every name that they could. This is the caliber of card that the UFC should be producing, and we are finally getting it! The latest addition to UFC 167 is a battle between two Heavyweights that people believe in, but have fallen upon hard times by the way of Frank Mir and Alistair Overeem.

This fight is huge for both men. For Frank Mir, he is on a three-fight losing streak right now, although he’s been with the UFC since 2001 and it would be a stretch for them to cut him, the reality of his situation is that he doesn’t seem to be able to cut it against top competition right now. Then there is Alistair Overeem, oh Overeem. His UFC run started off with a bang by knocking out Brock Lesnar in explosive fashion and has turned into something much different with back-to-back losses to Antonio Silva and Travis Browne. Yes, Travis Browne.
