Alistair Overeem Possibly Returns to Action in September

Alistair Overeem is currently healing up from surgery on his elbow, but there has been some air of mystery around if and when he’ll be back in the Octagon. As we are well aware, he left his former team, the Blackzilians, and will now be training at Jackson’s MMA here in Albuquerque, but it seems like Alistair Overeem will be cleared for an in-ring return in September and that he’d relish the idea of fighting in Japan again.

The UFC will be returning to Japan in September and Alistair Overeem makes so much sense for that, considering that Alistair Overeem was the last “star” built by K-1 founder Kazuyoshi Ishii before the fall of K-1. [source]

“Alistair is looking to return in September,” Fertitta told ESPN.com. “We haven’t finalized it yet, but he’s expressed an interest in fighting in Japan. I don’t know if we’ll have a spot on the card for that, but I would expect him to come back in that time frame.”
