This has been one of the more odd stories to develop over the weekend as Gegard Mousasi’s much-anticipated UFC debut against Alexander Gustafsson has been in jeopardy of not happening thanks to a cut that Gustafsson suffered during one of his last sparring sessions leading up to the April 6th fight. This has led for a few doctors to recommend that Gustafsson does not fight, which led to reports of the fight being off.
Not so fast.
Ariel Helwani went on Twitter to say that Dana White told him that the fight was “still on” to the best of his knowledge and that both guys are ready to go. So, for now, it looks like the fight is still on and that Gegard Mousasi, known for his precision striking, will have a clear target to aim for when the two men meet.
