Alex Caceres and Riki Fukuda Fail Drug Tests Following UFC on Fuel TV 8

Sometimes these things happen in MMA.

With another few shows in the books for the UFC, there are another few unfortunate failed drug tests that have surfaced, each with their own set of consequences. While everyone waits with baited breath to see how much weed was in Nick Diaz’s system against Georges St. Pierre, we instead turn to earlier in the month in Japan where the UFC held their event UFC on Fuel TV 8, that saw Brian Stann and Wanderlei Silva beat the ever-living snot out of each other.

The UFC has to run their own show when they go overseas and this time out they caught two of their fighters in the act of breaking the rules. Alex “Bruce Leeroy” Caceres was one of the highlights on the card for many, but he tested positive for marijuana metabolites. This turns his victory over Denis Kang into a no contest and has gotten him a six month suspension.

Riki Fukuda, who in my mind is best known for at one point coming out to pro wrestler Riki Choshu’s theme Powerhall, was also caught with banned substances in his system after his fight. A series of stimulants were found in his system; Phenylpropanolamine, Norpseudoephedrine and Ephedrine, which has led to the UFC cutting him after the loss to Brad Tavares as well as the failed drug test.
