World Series of Fighting Signs One-Armed Fighter Nick Newell

If you’ve been reading around the net for the past few years, you’ve probably seen or heard of Nick Newell. Nick Newell stands out from the rest of the MMA riffraff for one simple reason; Nick Newell was born with one arm. That would be a major problem for most people, but for Nick Newell it has served as just another challenge in life that he has faced and been able to overcome.

Newell had a successful wrestling career throughout high school and college, even without the use of one arm, which then inspired him to move into Mixed Martial Arts. From there he has been studying Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, which has helped him to hone his skills. He made his MMA debut in 2009 and since then has been undefeated in nine fights, with six submissions and two knockouts to his record. It was announced today that Newell has signed to the World Series of Fighting, led by the charismatic Ray Sefo.

There has been no date announced for Newell’s debut.
