Yesterday there was some news about the upcoming UFC on Fox Sports 1 1 event set to go down August 17th in Boston, Massachusetts where it was believed that the UFC was going to hit a few bumps in the road in regards to foreign fighters. Apparently, Massachusetts requires foreign fighters to attain work visas and have temporary Social Security numbers in order to compete, which Mass. officials believed would be a hurdle for the UFC, who was asking for exemptions.
Not so, says Marc Ratner.
“The fight is not in jeopardy,” Ratner told ESPN.com. “There are a few fighters whom we’re working on their visas. Everything is in the process right now. They’re all going to apply for Social Security numbers. They have to get visas but also have to apply for Social Security numbers. We’re complying with every part of the law.
“At the end of the day, we will be fine.”
So it looks like everything will be fine for the UFC.
