This past weekend at UFC 170 UFC Welterweight blue-chipper Rory MacDonald competed against the grizzled vet Demian Maia, taking Maia to the limits before walking away with the victory. Of course, this fight almost didn’t happen because of Rory MacDonald’s extracurricular activities with knives. Sure, he might have the demeanor, tone and all of the clear signs of a sociopath serial killer, but that doesn’t mean that he really is one, guys. It’s just a joke that we all have, alright? Rory MacDonald is not a serial killer and he got stabbed in his hand because he was cutting an avocado.
Luckily, his activities with knives (which are totally not being a serial killer) did not force him to pull out from the fight. Delicious. [source]
“I stabbed myself. It was pretty embarrassing,” MacDonald said at the post-event news conference following his win at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. “I couldn’t believe it. I thought I was going to have to pull out of the fight because you could easily hit a tendon. I went to the emergency room, got stitched up, got checked out. Everything’s fine and intact. It went in really far. But it got stitched up, I fought, and everything’s cool.”
