Bellator Gets Bumped From Thursday Night Time Slot for TNA Wrestling

I know that a lot of MMA fans either love or hate professional wrestling, with no real in between, but this is sure to stir up some emotions for those who fall into the latter category, as Bellator has been bumped from Thursday nights to make for a better timeslot for TNA. Fans have gotten comfortable with Bellator’s Thursday night slot, but Dave Meltzer has the scoop on Spike TV trying, once again, to shoehorn TNA into people’s lives by pushing TNA to the 9PM to 11PM slot on Thursdays, which has left Bellator without a home for now.

Meltzer points out that it only, logically, leaves Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday nights open for Bellator, with Tuesday looking to be the more viable option for the fledgling MMA brand, but nothing is certain just yet. It should be noted that Wednesdays will see competition from the UFC on Fox Sports 1 this summer, which might not be a great idea. It is rather curious, as Viacom actually has a stake in Bellator, yet is giving the golden treatment to TNA Wrestling, which has struggled since its inception to gain anything beyond a cult following, even when Spike lays out the red carpet for them.
