Star Wars Battlefront may release close to Star Wars Episode VII
Star Wars Battlefront is still quite a ways away, and if things can line up correctly, the game will release right alongside the next movie. The studio did say however that the game’s release isn’t directly tied to the movie’s schedule, but the respective dates may end being a lot closer than they had originally planned. It would be a cool marketing strategy, seeing as how hyped everyone is about Episode VII.
“As it relates to Star Wars, we’ve shown parts from the game today, so you know that what we’re building is more rooted in the traditional Star Wars universe and not so much necessarily linked to the movies being made,” EA Studios EVP Patrick Soderlund told investors last night. “And that’s just because we wanted to make a game that celebrated the history of Star Wars. EA said that it was aiming to release Star Wars Battlefront “around the same time as the Star Wars movies start to come out, probably in the summer of ’15”.
