It was recently announced that former UFC Heavyweight and Light Heavyweight champion Randy Couture would be gracing season 19 of ‘Dancing with the Stars.’
Last night was the season premiere and Couture impressed. Couture and his partner, professional dancer Karina Smirnoff foxtrotted their way to a total score of 31 out of 40 points from the judges, earning three eights and a seven. This score put the duo in fifth place of the 13 competing pairs.
Couture is the second MMA fighter to compete on the show, as fellow UFC Hall of Famer Chuck Liddell competed on the shows’ ninth season. Liddell and his partner, Anna Trebunska took home 11th place back in 2009.
