Sergei Kharitonov Forced Out of Cro Cop Fight at GLORY 17

Strikeforce and PRIDE veteran Sergei Kharitonov was originally scheduled to face Mirko Cro Cop Filipovic on June 21st in Los Angeles at GLORY 17 on Spike TV, but according to reports, Kharitonov is injured and unable to compete. Kharitonov suffered an injury to his finger and the man known as a heavy puncher was forced off of the card, leaving an opening for main eventer Mirko Cro Cop.

There are already many names circulating in the Cro Cop GLORY 17 lottery, from Jerome Le Banner to NY Undefeated Heavyweight Boxing sensation Jarrell Miller, who fought Cro Cop in K-1 in a controversial bout, to even former UFC Heavyweight Champion Tim Sylvia. I wouldn’t get my hopes up just yet for any of them, but it is fun to think about.
