Rick Story Feels Cast Aside, Wants Jake Ellenberger Rematch

Making a good first impression is very important, which is kind of case for Rick Story in the UFC. Rick Story burst onto the scene and immediately people were calling him the future of the UFC Welterweight Division, a future contender and already lining up what his future might look like in the UFC. He started off with a loss, but then went on a bit of a tear, going on a six fight winning streak, including wins over Jake Ellenberger and Johny Hendricks.

Story hasn’t been that lucky in the past few years, though, as a loss to Charlie Brenneman set the wheels of mediocrity in motion for him. He fought at UFC 158 on the undercard, which had to be difficult seeing Johny Hendricks go on to beat Carlos Condit and earn himself a title shot while he is languishing on the undercard. Story ran through Quinn Mulhern and now he wants a rematch with Jake Ellenberger, a guy that he has already beaten years ago, but who has since then gone to climb up in the rankings.

Ellenberger saw himself on the main card and scoring knockout of the night over Nate Marquardt, helping solidify his spot at the top of the division.

No doubt that Rick Story needs to get his career back on track, but this last win should help him out a bit. Story is still young, so patience might be a virtue for him here.
