UFC 161 is kind of the UFC that we all need to forget about, possibly get stuck in what the world now knows as a roofie circle, because it just had problems delivering much of anything. That being said, Suga Rashad Evans and Dan Henderson went to war, as Henderson was looking for a shot against Jon Jones, which he would earn by a victory here.
It was exactly the fight that you’d expect from both wrestleboxers, where they were both looking for the knockout blow while looking for takedowns with neither guy having much by the way of success in either. Both did land some solid shots here and there, but it was a mixed affair to say the least. Evans was overjoyed when he won the split decision.
