Murilo ‘Ninja’ Rua Runs a Gas Station in Brazil Now

The life of a fighter is an odd one, with a post-retirement life that seems almost up-in-the-air. We can talk about fighter pay all that we want, but without any real form of retirement and how young most fighters are when they stop fighting, it’s pretty easy to see just how weird life outside of the ring could be. For Murilo “Ninja” Rua, the brother of Mauricio “Shogun” Rua, life outside of the ring means owning a gas station in Brazil.

Murilo Rua has been running the gas station since December, when his father-in-law purchased it but didn’t want to run it, thus handing it over to the former PRIDE and EliteXC fighter who has now paid it back in full and claims to be making a good living off of that. Chalk this one up to another really strange MMA thing that most of us probably won’t forget any time soon.
