Lyman Good Considers Himself a Free Agent Now

I guess when it comes to leaving Bellator there is a right way and a wrong way. If you want to look at the right way, look no further than Lyman Good, a former Bellator champion who, since losing his title to Ben Askren, has been a bit swept aside. Lyman Good has had a bit of a strange career with some ups and downs, but he sat through his Bellator contract and got through the exclusive negotiation period and has announced that he is a free agent now.

Here is a copy of the statement released today.

“I have nothing but positive things to say about the experience I had with Bellator. I was their first Welterweight Champion and while I wasn’t able to regain the title, I feel like I accomplished good things there. I was with the company from its start many years ago and hopefully, I helped move the company forward in some way,” said Good. “The entire team at Bellator has been really good to me throughout my career and now they’ve given me the green light to go and fight anywhere I want.”

While Good is exploring all opportunities, he does not rule out a return to Bellator at some point in the future. “I don’t know where I’ll end up next, but I’m going to keep fighting and, you never know, maybe I’ll be back at Bellator at some point.”
