Hector Lombard Moves to Welterweight to Fight Nate Marquardt at UFC 166

Hector Lombard, for the longest time, was the guy who was operating outside of the UFC that many believed could be a legitimate challenge for Anderson Silva at Middleweight. As we’ve seen, that might not be the case, so him dropping to Welterweight seems like a brilliant move, as he can look like a dominant killer at Welterweight and get some momentum going again.

The only problem? His first fight is against a very tough opponent in Nate Marquardt, who has been around and fighting at the top level for years now. Lombard is scheduled to face Marquardt at UFC 166 on October 19th in Houston. This is a chance for each guy to prove their worth and could be seen as a loser-leaves-town bout, sadly.
