Georges St-Pierre Wants to See Changes in the UFC Before a Return

Georges St-Pierre’s abrupt retirement from MMA and the UFC made a big splash when it happened a few weeks ago and has been one of the banes of Dana White’s existence ever since. Many have a hard time understanding where the former UFC Welterweight Champion is coming from and why he seems upset with the UFC, but Georges St-Pierre is sticking to his guns and doesn’t seem to be planning on returning any time soon.

It looks like Georges St-Pierre is upset with how the sport has grown and how some of the lingering issues have yet to get better. It is beginning to look more and more like GSP left the UFC because he didn’t feel like he was being treated well enough and had to endure a lot of finger pointing without his company supporting him. “I’m not sure,” GSP said when asked if he will return to the UFC one day. “I see what’s going on in MMA and I like the fact that I don’t have to think about it. I just want to step aside and watch them fight, see what’s going to happen and a bunch other things I can’t say right now (laughs). Maybe, one day, if the things happen like I think they should happen, I’ll return. I don’t know how long it may take, but I’m waiting.”

“I just wanted some things to change,” he continued. “The way things are, I’ve been receiving messages, some secret, from people that are afraid to publicly say what they think and congratulating me for doing what I do for the fighters and the sport, encouraging me to continue.”
