Despite a close call that almost shut down the show, World Series of Fighting 2 is going down right now.

It was close, too close. With two hours to go until show time, World Series of Fighting officials hastily received a new cage mat from Las Vegas and a local promoter’s cage from somewhere in New Jersey to save the show. Apparently, the cage and mat they brought to Atlantic City was having issues and the cage wasn’t stable enough to be fit for fighting, so the athletic commission said “no go” until a new cage was found and put together.

Most people won’t ever realize how close the show was to being canceled. Had the mat flown from Vegas not fit the cage that was found after a bunch of stressed phone calls – everyone would’ve been screwed- but it’s over now. WSOF 2 is going down right now with a preliminary card on Sherdog.com and a main card that should be pretty awesome on the NBC Sports Network.
