The UFC is doing the hard sell on UFC 168, featuring Anderson Silva vs. Chris Weidman II. So much so that they are doing the whole Mayweather “World Tour” thing to promote the event, which led them to Brazil today. Those Brazilian fans really love Anderson Silva, so this does make some sense. If you aren’t aware of this World Tour stuff, the UFC is going to big fight cities throughout the world and putting on press conferences to try to build up hype for upcoming fights.
Their focus right now is on UFC 168, which they believe will be bigger than UFC 100. A part of making it that big is to do the hard sell on this tour and really push this fight between Weidman and Silva as the most important fight in the world.
