So it is finally happening, Ben Askren has finally been released from Bellator and we’ve all learned a valuable lesson from the hardship that Eddie Alvarez went through. Ben Askren has been granted a full release from Bellator and is free to go wherever he damned well chooses, which will very clearly be the UFC unless an act of God occurs and Ben Askren is struck down on the way into the Zuffa offices in Las Vegas.
Ben Askren seems to be very clear about where he intends to go and what he intends to do, now let’s just hope that he’s granted an immediate title shot. Then again, this is the UFC, so they’ll make him fight against Martin Kampmann or something and risk the whole horse and pony show.
I’ve made the decision to release Ben Askren. After speaking with Ben, it was clear it was a good time for both parties to move on.
