Battlefield Hardline’s PS4 matchmaking error is due to beta servers reaching max capacity

The matchmaking error affecting the PS4 version of the Battlefield Hardline beta is due to the game’s servers reaching their maximum capacity, EA has revealed tonight.

In an update on EA’s support site, the publisher explained that it had “limited the number of participating players per platform” for the beta, before asking those affected by the error to “try joining a match after some time has passed”.

“If you try to join a match in the Battlefield Hardline beta and receive the error, ‘Matchmaking Failed — Could not find a server to join,’ this is likely due to our beta servers reaching their maximum capacity,” EA explained.

“We’ve limited the number of participating players per platform during the Battlefield Hardline beta to balance our need for stress-testing while still trying to give an exciting and engaging in-game experience to as many players possible.

“We’re actively working to make more room and keep up with demand. However, if we haven’t caught up with you yet and you’re receiving this error, try joining a match again after some time has passed.”

The beta launched on all platforms earlier this week.
