    Ingo's Training Log

Here is a link to my timesheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...nc&pli=1#gid=0

Learned defense to butterfly guard sweeps with two options.

#1 Smash forward keeping the opponents head behind his hips then use one knee to smash for side control.
#2 If you start to get swept, base out on your hands and tip toes and do the same thing as above.

Rolls were decent, did not feel 100% physically but was able to get a few sweeps and subs.

    Training Log 5/30/12

Worked standing today with several techniques

#1 Push your opponent in the chest, when he comes back at you, go for a double

#2 When single leg is attempted by your opponent with head inside, push head down, turn, escape your knee and then jump to the back all in one motion

#3 When single leg is attempted by your opponent with head outside, push head down below knew and pivot getting a hook in and then pull down to take the back.

Rolling was ok today, a little sore from yesterday and still battling allergies. Have been working on my half guard top game and finally started to use two techniques when the opponent gets the underhook

#1 Push him away, and swim to regain your own underhook and smash.
#2 get your hips out and sit down keeping your base with the bottom leg. then you can escape the other leg.

    Training Log 6/5/12 and 6/6/12

Worked a few techniques from the hook sweep/butterfly guard position to defend the sweep

#1 Get your weight on your hips and inch forward keeping the guy on bottom off his back and his head behind his hips. Lift one leg and use your knee to push his knee down and slide down till you make hip on hip contact while you are on top of him. Switch the grip to his knee, escape the leg and pass to side control.

#2 When guy on bottom has both sleeves, grab his pants and shuffle to the side while you push his knee to the ground. Switch grips and pass to side control

#3 Get your weight on your hips and pressure with the forehead into his sternum. Grab behind the knee across to the other pant leg. With other hand, grap the collar. Now pull his knee out and pass to side control.

Rolling was pretty good both days. Feeling 100% again with good energy. Comprido asked me to test for my blue belt in the next couple of weeks!

Fun class tonight, We worked on a sweep from bottom where you toss the guy over your head and also did some single leg takedowns.

Rolling was just ok, had a tough one with a couple of purple belts, one who dominated me and another who didn't finish but came close about 20 times. Fun stuff!

Jonatas taught us some slick moves from guard today.

#1 Cross crip the sleeve and pull over your head while swimming under and grabbing the laper. Then panther grip and raise your elbow to choke.

#2 Same as above but instead push the head and go for Omaplata

#3 Same as above but fake Omaplata and take the back with on arm in.

Also worked drilling for the blue belt test. Feel pretty confident it will be no problem.

Jonatas taught today since Comprido is in Brazil for the Mike Russow fight at UFC 147.

    We went over the following:

#1 - Side control with knee in armpit and one leg back with hand on opponents knee for control and other hand with thumb in behind the head on lapel. Jump to Knee on belly and then go for the armbar.

#2 - Same as above only this time go for a choke. Once you have knee on belly switch the grip sinking your opposite hand deep with four fingers in on the collar. Then use the other hand to choke by thumb in on the collar or just leopard grip across the shoulder. To get pressure, remove the knee on belly and lean forward over your opponent.

#3 - Side control with both knees tight, one on the armpit and one on the hip of your opponent. Grab his GI and wrap under his arm and behind his head. Then switch hands grabbing nice and deep behind the head with four fingers on the Gi. Bring the other hand over again and finish the choke.

Rolling today was pretty good, felt great with lots of energy. Did well with Domenico in not leaving much room for him to do much and getting my guard back twice after he passed my half guard. Jorge gave me some trouble with is tricky tornado guard or whatever the hell he calls it. Had a nice Omaplata set up from guard on Cody but got my hand stuck in there and could not finish.

Great class today with Jonatas. Went over back attacks

    #1 Armbar
    #2 Bow and Arrow Choke
    #3 Ezekiel Choke
    #3 Simple Collar Choke
#4 Simple Collar Choke then take the back when opponent rolls and jump off for Clock choke

Rolling was pretty good, had a tough roll with Mike first. Cannot figure that guy out but am doing a better job surviving against him. Also rolled with Fredy who is Mr Pass and Ryan as well.

**I am too passive and slow, when I go for shit...need to GO GO GO and stop being so tentative and thinking so much.

    Worked on armbar defense tonight.

#1 The standard thumb towards your head and roll out to take side control

#2 Rear naked choke your arm and reach inside the opponents knee with the other hand. Stack and put all your weight forward and stay heavy. Slowly get the arm out, then switch grips to behind the head and take side control

#3 grab your own gi and use momentum to swing your legs over your head and then up and stacking your opponent. Cross grip your opponents shoulder and use your forearm to put pressure while you stack hard. At the same time use your head and slide it up to the ankle and use the pressure to get your arm out.

Rolling sucked, got my ass kicked all up and down the mat. Learned some things though, still need to work harder to stay on top. Don't be lazy.

Worked on sweeps from full guard standing today

#1 Jump and pull guard and immediately put your back on the ground. Then grab with both hands behind the heels, push with your feet on the hips and take mount.

#2 When your opponent stands up cross grip, then fake underneath grabbing the back leg and immediately switch to the close leg and use your hips and pull to get mount

#3 When he stands, hoop one side, keeping your guard. Roll over your shoulder on the hooked leg side and use your body to pressure the knee and get the takedown.

Rolling was ok today, feeling pretty beat up this week. We started in full guard. on Top was doing ok against most people on bottom had some trouble keeping my guard.
